Charentias Melon
in the Fruit Box

Charentais melons, AKA French cantaloupe, are a petite-sized melon with a smooth, hard, pistachio-grey colored skin and distinct green ribbing. Its flesh is deep orange, dense, smooth and sweet similar to that of a Cantaloupe. When ripe it is highly fragrant and delicious! Always wrap cut melons in plastic, once cut, to prolong their shelf life.

Recipes This Week:
1. Sweet and Spicy Kale Chips- A little almond butter and maple syrup, or honey, make this a fun recipe and snack!
2. No-Mayo Coleslaw- Not only is it healthier, it makes for a light, citrusy contrast to the foods of summer.
3. Curried Cabbage With Cashews- It's hard sometimes to know what to do with this cruciferous wonder, especially when you're "slawed out". This is a great solution!
4. Vegetable Primavera- In this low-cal main dish includes an array or fresh veggies. Use a delicious combination from your box!
5. Vegetable Leek Soup- Mix an array of your veggies to make this fresh soup!
6. Summer Wheat Berry Salad- Use your squash, tomatoes, and any other veggies to make this filling dish!
7. Grilled Cheese with Carrots & Carrot Top Green Pesto- This is a great way to use up the most of your carrots, and put a neat twist on a classic favorite.
8. Corn, Kale, and Leek Fritters- This is a great way to use 3 items from your mixed of veggie box, in one fell swoop.

9. Garlicky Baby Broccoli- This is a wonderful and yummy side dish!
10. Brown Sugared Carrots- Use your carrots with tops. Chop some of the tops and sprinkle them over the carrots like parsley.

Don't Forget a Sweet Treat:
11. Roasted Peach Crepes- Add other fruits from your box as well!
12. Overnight Mango Blueberry Chia Seeds Pudding- This is a super simple yet extremely delicious, light and refreshing treat.

Juice Recipes & Tips:

This Week's Juicing Tips:
    • Roll up your greens. This will make your greens denser and thus less likely to just “spin around” in your juicer. You can also put the pulp through your juicer again to get more juice!
    • Although you can juice the peels of citrus items, we recommend peeling the citrus items before putting them in your juicer or blender to avoid making the juice bitter.
